OUR ROOTS
More than eighteen years of lessons and wisdom lie behind our brand's history. In 2003, our co-founders Mariana Hinestroza and Catalina Álvarez, both from Medellin, Colombia, came together to handeraft swimsuits for their friends and family. At first, they personally fabricated each piece using leftover Fabrics from a local clothing factory and their grandmothers' sewing machines.
MARI & CATA
Born in Medellin, Colombia, Mariana Hinestroza and Catalina Alvarez met in college while studying fashion design, where they soon became good friends and business partners. They are both loving mothers.
Mariana has two kids, Gael and Valentino, and Catalina has three, Valerio, Alegria, and Amor. Though the duo likes to say they share two more children: Agua Bendita and Agua by AB.
